F.A.Q's > Sensors and Service Kits

Q: What is a service kit?

A: A service kit contains:

1 cap

1 core

1 rubber grommet

1 nut

And

4 coloured rings (Renault)

1 zinc coated seal washer (VDO)

Q: Why do I need a service kit?

A: We recommend that you should replace the cap, core, grommet and nut every time a TPMS sensor is removed from the wheel or the wheel is serviced. Worn component parts can cause serious problems. Replacing the critical valve component parts every time ensures an air tight seal allowing the TPMS to function properly.

Q: Are all sensors the same?

A: No all sensors vary. There are some sensors that are for several different makes and models of cars but it is important to make sure the sensor is the exact one for your vehicle.

Q: Which sensors are due to fail this year?

A: Sensors that were installed in 2003 will be due to fail this year if the battery has lasted the full 7 years.

A: On the item  description it will tell you whether or not the sensor relearns automatically. If you are still unsure or would just like to check it over with a real person, give us a call on 01530 517920 and we will be happy to help.

Q: I need new sensors for my vehicle but I was going to replace my tyres at the same time - can you help?

A: Yes, Tyresensors.com is actually part of Performance Wheels Ltd so we can help you out with any tyre or wheel requirements you may have. Give us a call or drop us an email to find out more. Telephone : 01530 517920. Email: admin@tyresensors.com

Q: My valve has just broken! Is it possible to just replace the valve part of the sensor rather than the whole sensor?

A: This really depends on what sensor you have on your vehicle. Some sensors have the valve as a seperate part, whereas other sensors come as one fixed piece with the valve.

If you search for your sensor on our site, you should be able to tell from the image provided whether the valve is attached to the sensor or not.

If you are still unsure or you would just prefer to speak to a real person, give us a call on 01530 517920 and we will advise you.
